Aguilera wedding rumor slips

London — Christina Aguilera’s many male admirers would be forgiven for feeling a little glum, after it was revealed that the pop tart is set to get married, reports Hello! magazine.

The “Beautiful” diva has been dating Jordan Bratman, who works for her management company, for seven months now and it seems the couple have decided to tie the knot.

Aguilera’s new fiance’s grandmother let it slip to reporters on Tuesday.

“Jordan asked her in Los Angeles,” said 72-year-old Sally Bratman. “He called me and told me two days ago. I’m very happy they are engaged. His mum and dad are very happy too. I don’t know when the wedding will be — soon, hopefully.”

Simmons slapped with charge

Phoenix — Exercise guru Richard Simmons allegedly slapped a man who made a sarcastic remark about one of his videos, police said.

Simmons, known for his “Sweatin’ to the Oldies” series of exercise videos set to songs from the 1950s and 60s, was cited for misdemeanor assault.

A fellow passenger recognized Simmons, 55, on Wednesday night at Phoenix’s Sky Harbor International Airport as he was waiting for a flight to Los Angeles, police said.

The man “made the off-hand comment, ‘Hey everybody. It’s Richard Simmons. Let’s drop our bags and rock to the ’50s,”‘ said Phoenix police Sgt. Tom Osborne. “Mr. Simmons took exception to it and walked over to the other passenger and apparently slapped him in the face.”

Under the sea

New York — Scarlett Johansson has been cast as a voice actor in “The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie,” set to hit the big screen Nov. 19.

The film is based on the popular Nickelodeon animated series.

Johansson, the 19-year-old star of “Lost in Translation,” will voice a new character named Mindy, daughter of the cantankerous undersea leader King Neptune (Jeffrey Tambor). Alec Baldwin will voice Dennis, a ruthless hit man, Nickelodeon Movies announced Wednesday.

Solidarity in pink

Newport Beach, Calif. — TV and radio host Ryan Seacrest has come out in support of six middle-school students in Newport Beach, Calif., who were banned by their principal from participating in a class portrait.

Last week the students showed up for the photo-shoot wearing pink T-shirts. Ensign Middle School principal Edward Wong pulled the boys from their eighth-grade class portrait because he thought the color might be associated with gang-affiliated “dance crews” that hold all-night dance contests and raves.

Seacrest is supporting the students because one of them told a local paper that pink was popular among teens because Seacrest wears it.

“I’m standing up and saying it’s OK to stand out, because I’m the Pink Piper,” Seacrest told a caller to his radio show.

He declared this week “Think Pink Week” and asked listeners to wear pink today.
