  • KU leads the all-time series 1-0, beating the Tigers, 70-54, Dec. 13, 1966 in Lawrence. Rodger Bohnenstiehl scored 22 points to lead KU. He also had 12 boards.
  • KU is 10-3 all-time against schools from the Big West Conference.
  • KU has won three straight games in the second round of the NCAAs.
  • Pacific, the Big West champion and postseason-tournament champion, has won 16 consecutive games, 21 of 22 and a school-record 25 games.
  • The longest win streak in Pacific history is 21 games from Dec. 20, 1966, to March 17, 1967.
  • Pacific has an enrollment of 6,000 and is in Stockton, Calif. School colors are orange and black.
  • Pacific beat Idaho and Cal State Northridge to claim the Big West Conference tourney title.
  • Former Pacific standout Bob Thomason is 259-208 in 16 years as coach at his alma mater. He’s the second coach in Big West history to record 250 wins in Big West history. The other is Jerry Tarkanian of Fresno State.

  • Pacific defeated Nevada, 82-76, Dec. 6 in Stockton, Calif. Nevada defeated Kansas, 75-61, Dec. 21 in Reno. Pacific lost to Duke, 82-69, at the Great Alaska Shootout. Also, Saint Joseph’s beat Pacific, 73-55, Dec. 27, at St. Joe’s.
  • Pacific went 17-1 during the Big West regular season, losing only at Utah State, 66-51, Jan. 15. That was the Tigers’ last loss to date. Pacific’s league record was the school’s best since the 1966-67 team went 14-0 in West Coast Conference play.
  • Pacific is in its sixth NCAA Tournament. The last trip was in 1997, when the Tigers lost a first-round game as the No. 13 seed, to St. Joseph’s, 75-65. The Tigers’ record in NCAA Tournament play is 3-6 following Friday’s 66-58 win over Providence.
  • Guard Miah Davis, the Big West Player of the Year, scored 19 points in Pacific’s win over Providence. Center Guillaume Yango scored 18.
  • Michael Olowokandi, the overall No. 1 draft pick in the 1998 draft, who plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves, has had his No. 55 retired at Pacific. He is Pacific’s fourth All-American. The others were Keith Swagerty (1967), John Gianelli (1972) and Ron Cornelius (1981). Olowokandi averaged 22.2 points in 1997-98 with 95 blocks his senior year. He shot 61 percent as a senior. He was Big West Player of the Year.
  • Keith Langford needs six points to pass Adonis Jordan for 20th place on KU’s all-time scoring list.
  • J.R. Giddens needs 13 threes to pass Jeff Boschee as KU’s top freshman single-season three-point shooter.
