Alice M. Eisenbart

? A parish rosary for Alice M. Eisenbart, 90, Iola, will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Catholic Church in Iola, with a mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Owl Creek Cemetery in Woodson County.

Mrs. Eisenbart died Friday, March 19, 2004, at her home.

She was born April 23, 1913, at Owl Creek in Woodson County, the daughter of Daniel and Barbara Walter Hoag. She grew up in Owl Creek and attended North Maple Grove School.

Mrs. Eisenbart and her husband farmed in Yates Center and Sharon Springs before moving in 1972 to Parsons. They moved in 1982 to Iola.

Mrs. Eisenbart was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and Altar Society in Iola.

She married John J. Eisenbart on May 6, 1931, in Owl Creek. He died March 17, 1994.

A son, Bernard Eisenbart, and a grandchild also died earlier.

Survivors include four sons, Norb Eisenbart, Iola, Harold Eisenbart, Stratton, Colo., Tom Eisenbart, Goodland, and Ken Eisenbart, Lawrence; four daughters, Betty McGraw, Shrub Oak, N.Y., Pauline Thomas, Nashville, Tenn., Jeanie Razee, Denver, and Pat Shurtz, Gila, N.M.; two brothers, Paul Hoag, Wichita, and Daniel Hoag, Glen Burnie, Md.; two sisters, Esther Yohon, Yates Center, and Rita Wood, Wichita; 34 grandchildren; 86 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.

The family suggests memorials to St. John’s Catholic Church or Allen County Healthcare Foundation Hospice, sent in care of the funeral chapel, 16 N. Buckeye, Iola 66749.
