Police confiscate marijuana plants in bust near school

Lawrence Police today confiscated about 60 to 70 marijuana plants they found in a house located only about a block away from New York elementary school and a few blocks east of the police department’s headquarters.

One man was arrested, officers said.

Officers went to the house at 1036 N.Y. St. about 11:30 a.m. armed with a search warrant and spent the next several hours at the house. The house is about four blocks east of Lawrence’s downtown.
