Rebecca and Jason Fox

Rebecca K. Barrett and Jason E. Fox, both of Lawrence, were married Dec. 27, 2003, at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Clay Center with Vicki Penner, of Peace Mennonite Church in Lawrence, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Rhonda Baldwin, Lancaster, Pa. The groom is the son of Steve and Reba Fox, Clay Center.

Maid of honor was Sarah Barrett. Bridesmaids were Bridget Hudacs, Karen Lombardi and Emily Wicktor. Groomsmen were Matthew Barrett, Jacob Larson, Sean Thomas and Mark Symns. Ring bearers were Nathan Rice and Brandon Rice. Flower girl was Michaela Fortner. Reader was Greg Brister.

A reception was given at the church.

The bride graduated from Solanco High School, Quarryville, Pa. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and human studies from Juniata College, Huntingdon, Pa. She is pursuing a doctorate in American studies. She teaches at Kansas University and Highland Community College.

The groom is a Clay Center Community High School graduate. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English at Bethel College, North Newton. He is pursuing a master’s degree in English at KU. He teaches at KU and Highland Community College.

The couple reside in Lawrence.

Truelove-Messick

Raymond and Charmaine Messick

Charmaine Diane Truelove, Lawrence, and Raymond Ivan Messick, Garnett, were married Dec. 19, 2003, in De Soto, with Roy Gilliam, Lawrence, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Bill and Donna Durrant, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Carol Messick, Williamsburg, and the late Eugene Messick.

Pama Weaver was matron of honor. Mary Bichelmeyer was bridesmaid. Best man was Bill Owens. Groomsman was Chuck Yates. Flower girl was Jackie Truelove. Ring bearer was Justin Truelove. Cake servers were Carol Brallier, Carol Messick and Dorothy Messick. Gift table and guest book attendants were Jean Blanton and Jean Gilliam.

A reception was given after the ceremony.

The couple reside in Garnett.

Merriam-Sclchaga

Anita and Dr. Luis Sclchaga

Anita Merriam and Dr. Luis Antonio Sclchaga were married Jan. 17, 2004, in Cleveland, Ohio.

The bride is the daughter of Annie and Daniel Merriam, Lawrence. She works in the neurology department at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland.

The groom is the son of Miguel and Carmen Sclchaga, Pamplona, Spain. He works in the department of orthopedics at Case Western Reserve University.

The couple plan to take a honeymoon trip to Spain in the summer.

They reside in University Heights, Ohio.
