Elisa and Eli Brooks

Elisa Willems and Eli Brooks, both of Lawrence, were married Jan. 3, 2004, at Mustard Seed Christian Fellowship church in Lawrence with the Rev. Pieter Willems officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Pieter and Alice Willems, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Robert and Robin Brooks, Lawrence.

Maid of honor was Hannah Willems. Best man was Ezra Brooks. Bridesmaids were Jessica Willems, Adrienne Willems, Melissa Ingalls, Jessica McClung and Bliss Lemmon. Groomsmen were J.J. Willems, Luke Finger, David Taylor, Daniel Fonseca and Peter Wentz.

A reception was given at Steve’s Place in Lawrence.

The bride was home schooled through high school. She is pursuing a degree in social welfare at Kansas University.

The groom was home schooled through high school. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Latin American studies from KU in December 2003.

The couple reside in Lawrence.

Pettengill-Renner

Lynate Pettengill and Richard Renner

Lynate Pettengill and Richard Renner, both of Lawrence, were married Feb. 14, 2004, at Danforth Chapel in Lawrence with Robin Goff officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Glenn Pettengill, Emporia, and Maclyn Pettengill, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Marion Renner, Haysville.

Best kid was Ethan Pettengill Miles. Fire eater and candle lighter was Vince Delaughder.

A reception was given at the Castle Tea Room.

The bride graduated from high school in Warrensburg, Mo. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in sociology from Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo. She is a life coach and motivational speaker.

The groom graduated from high school in Haysville. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in theater and communication from Kansas University. He is a performing artist and sole proprietor of the Vodvill Entertainment Co.

The couple reside in Lawrence.

Theroff-Smoots

Ashley Marie Theroff, McLouth, and Timothy Dustin Smoots, Tonganoxie, were married Feb. 14, 2004, at the Nazarene Church in McLouth with the Rev. Joe Masqua officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Luke Theroff, McLouth, and Jerrad and Lisa Humerickhouse, McLouth. She is a McLouth High School graduate and attended Kansas City Kansas Community College. The groom is the son of Tim and Barb Smoots, McLouth, and Kim Smoots, Tonganoxie. He is a Tonganoxie High School graduate.

The couple reside in Tonganoxie.
