Area fishing report

CLINTON LAKE (updated 6-24) — Water 78 degrees and 1.9 feet below normal pool. Channel catfish fair close to the bank (they are spawning) on minnows, nightcrawlers, sunfish and liver. Also, some being caught in outlet on nightcrawlers. Drum fair on worms in the outlet. Walleye poor drifting flats with jig and nightcrawler or trolling with crankbaits. White bass fair at the surface chasing shad.

PERRY LAKE (updated 6-18) — Water 75 degrees and 4 feet over normal pool. Channel catfish good close to the back (for spawning). Fish the creeks where water is running in with worms or prepared bait. Sauger fair on rocky points on west side toward dam on crankbaits or twisters. White bass fair by rocky points and jetty on twisters or shad-colored crankbaits. White crappie fair on tube jigs or minnows in 10- to 15-feet of water on the brushpiles.

Douglas State Lake (updated 6-24) — Bluegill good near shore on nightcrawlers, crickets, small jigs and flies. Carp fair on nightcrawlers, dough baits and fermented whole-kernel corn. Channel catfish fair on poultry liver, nightcrawlers and Bee Jay.

LEAVENWORTH STATE LAKE (updated 6-24) — Bluegill/redear fair on worms under bobber. Channel catfish good on large shiners and liver. Crappie fair on medium shiners. Largemouth bass fair on variety of spinnerbaits, plastic baits and medium shiners. Walleye fair on jig and nightcrawlers and medium shiners.

LONE STAR LAKE (updated 6-24) — Channel catfish good on nightcrawlers, cut bait, stinkbait and liver. Largemouth bass fair on plastics, spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Redear and bluegill fair on worms under bobber around weeds.
