Pottorf

Mike and Carol Pottorf, Bonita Springs, Fla., formerly of Oskaloosa, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception and dance from 7 p.m. to midnight July 3 at the American Legion in Ozawkie.

Mike Pottorf and Carol Harbour were married July 4, 1954, at First Methodist Church in Oskaloosa.

Mike retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., Topeka, after more than 39 years in 1985. Carol retired from the Kansas Insurance Department in Topeka after more than 17 years in 1995.

Their children are Rick Pottorf, Ozawkie; Mike and LeAnn Davis, Virginia Beach, Va.; Chet Pottorf, Ozawkie; John and Joan Blazek, Wichita; and Susan Newell, Meriden. They have 13 grandchildren.

The couple request no gifts.

Wren

Mel and Alice Wren, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with family this weekend in Branson, Mo.

Mel Wren and Alice Koontz were married June 27, 1954, at First Methodist Church in Ottawa.

Mel retired as a purchasing officer from Lawrence Memorial Hospital in 1996. Alice retired this month from Schmidt Builders Supply.

They have two daughters, Sheri Richling, Lawrence, and Alicia Reynolds, Topeka. They also have five grandchildren.
