Summer solstice not all sunny

Kansans have close to 15 hours of summer daylight to enjoy today, which is the longest day of the year and the first day of summer. The sun rose at 5:56 a.m. and will set at 8:50 p.m.

But it wasn’t all sunny. Showers moved through the area this morning and last night, but the clouds will thin out through this afternoon. The high temperature today will be 78 degrees, about five degrees cooler than normal, said 6News meteorologist Matt Sayers.

Tonight, skies will clear and the temperature will dip down to 57 degrees. Tuesday’s high will be 79 degrees under sunny skies. Wednesday’s temperature will reach a high of 86 degrees.
