M. JoAnn Jamison

? Services for Melba JoAnn Jamison, 69, Emporia, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia. Burial will be in Blakely Cemetery, Madison.

Mrs. Jamison died Monday, June 14, 2004, at her home.

She was born July 2, 1934, in Madison, the daughter of Roy Elmer and Pearl McMurray Hoobler. She graduated from Madison High School. She moved from Madison to Emporia in 1966.

Mrs. Jamison was a medical insurance clerk at Emporia Chiropractic Clinic, and previously had worked in other medical offices in Emporia. She was a member of the auxiliaries of American Legion Ball-McColm Post No. 5 , Veterans of Foreign Wars Lowry-Funston Post No. 1980, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2587, all in Emporia.

She married Woodrow Jamison on Sept. 9, 1953, in Madison. He died Aug. 24, 1980.

A daughter, Mary Kathleen Jamison, also died earlier.

Survivors include a son, David Jamison, Emporia; four daughters, Teresa Schonhardt, Waconia, Minn., Pearl Hurtig, Lawrence, Cynthia Leffler, Americus, and Shelia Harmony, Hutchinson; a brother, Roy Eugene Hoobler, Madison; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
