Elma Elston Supancic

Services for Elma Elston Supancic, 91, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Supancic died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She had lived more than 70 years in Lawrence.

She was born May, 30, 1913, in Baldwin, the daughter of Thomas E. and Tessie Deamie Collow Hill. She graduated from Baldwin High School.

Mrs. Supancic worked as a florist for more than 20 years for Owens Green House and then Owens Flower Shop before she retired in 1978. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Lawrence, Central United Methodist Church and Thursday Sewing Club.

She married Clyde A. Elston in June 1934. He died Feb. 4, 1963. She married Tony Supancic in August 1966. He died Oct. 27, 1993.

Two grandchildren also died earlier.

Survivors include two sons, Cliff Elston and Gary Elston, both of Lawrence; two sisters, Etna Atkinson, Lawrence, and Hazel Malfatti, San Francisco; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Assn., of Topeka, or the American Heart Assn., sent in care of the mortuary.
