Bateson services
Baldwin ? Services for Krystal Lynne Bateson, 13, Baldwin, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Baldwin. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Lawrence.
Krystal died June 13, 2004, in Winfield.
She was born July 2, 1990, in Lawrence, the daughter of Kenneth and Theresa McCrary Bateson.
Krystal graduated from eighth grade at Baldwin Junior High School with academic honors in May 2004. She was a member of the Lawrence Phenix Fast Pitch Assn., Vinland Valley 4-H, American Rabbit Breeders Assn., Capital City Rabbit Club, NRCC and the Midwest Junior Volleyball Assn. She played competitively in volleyball, basketball, track and softball in junior high.
Survivors include her parents, of the home; a brother, David Lewis Bateson, of the home; maternal grandfather and stepgrandmother, David and Kathy McCrary, Baldwin; maternal grandmother and stepgrandfather, Betty and Dale Steenbock, Baldwin; and paternal grandmother, Elaine Place, Lawrence.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to Lawrence Humane Society or Krystal Lynne Bateson Memorial Fund, sent in care of the mortuary.
