‘Ulysses’ Bloomsday events among weekend fun

Kansas University English professor Katie Conrad has organized a week’s worth of events to commemorate Bloomsday — June 16, 1804 — the day in which James Joyce’s novel “Ulysses” takes place. Weekend events include a conference at KU, a public lecture by Joyce scholar Michael Patrick Gillespie and a staged reading by KU’s English Alternative Theatre of “Lucia Mad,” a play about James Joyce, his daughter Lucia and Samuel Beckett.
