MTV to Eminen: Butt out

New York — When the “MTV Movie Awards,” filmed Saturday, are telecast at 8 p.m. Thursday, a shot of rapper Eminem exposing his rear end to the audience won’t be one of the show’s high(low?)lights.

Eminem, who performed with his group, D12, appeared onstage dressed in a long red wig and jeans in a parody of Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose.

He repeatedly groped and flashed a studded codpiece in front of the cameras and the thousands of people in the audience. Toward the end of the performance, he pulled down his trousers and flashed his bare backside at the audience.

The governor’s former life

Los Angeles — Just months after facing allegations during his gubernatorial campaign of groping women, Arnold Schwarzenegger makes a somewhat lecherous cameo appearance in a reprise of “Around the World in 80 Days.”

Schwarzenegger is on screen for only about five minutes as Prince Hapi, decked out in robes, baubles and shoulder-length hair. But, it’s long enough for his character to display the kind of appetite for indulgence Schwarzenegger made famous in his Hollywood days.

Producer Hal Lieberman said no thought was given to dropping the scene, despite the controversy during Schwarzenegger’s gubernatorial campaign.

“We weren’t knocking ourselves out with worry about that,” Lieberman said. “Although he’s a philanderer in the movie … look at his marriage with Maria (Shriver),” he said.

NBC’s cure for aging

London — Alex Kingston says she’s being axed from “ER” for being too old.

The British actress, who plays Dr. Elizabeth Corday on the long-running NBC medical drama, said she was told recently that after seven years on the show, her contract would not be renewed.

In an interview with Radio Times magazine, the 41-year-old Kingston said the program was increasingly focused on young characters, “and apparently I, according to the producers and the writers, am part of the old fogies who are no longer interesting.”

“In that respect it’s a shame. It’s fine to have young med students, but you need to have figures of authority, people of different ages, races, shapes and sizes,” she said.
