Hays ? Jack and Kathy Krier, Russell, expanded their newspaper holdings this week, buying three weekly newspapers in rural Kansas.

The Kriers, who already publish the Lyons Daily News and four weekly newspapers in Kansas and have an ownership stake in about a dozen Missouri papers, bought The Ellis Review, Hoisington Dispatch and the Plainville Times, effective Thursday.
