Pohl Hole-in-One: Judy Pohl used a 5-iron to ace the 133-yard No. 7 hole Friday at Lawrence Country Club. Witnesses were Charlie Pohl, Brad Pohl and Carrie Pohl.

  • Zylstra Double Eagle: Lawrence Country Club pro Jon Zylstra fired a double-eagle Friday on the course’s par-5 No. 5 hole. Zylstra holed his 219-yard second shot, using a 3-iron. Witnesses were Greg Lam, Brian Dufner and Bob Darkenwald.
  • Mop Run: The Mop Run, an orienteering exercise, will start at 8 a.m. Saturday at Marvin Grove near Spencer Art Museum. For information, call Gene Wee at 841-3587.
  • Rebels U-10 Champs: Kansas Rebels U-10 baseball went 6-0 and won a tournament last weekend at Johnson County 3&2. Team members were Nick Bennett, Tyler Brenn, Anthony Buffalomeat, Brett Frantz, Driskell Johnson, Zach Losey, Montana Samuels, Cody Stanclift, Elliot Vaughn, Jake Binoverski and Wyatt Woods.
  • Chadwick All-American: Lawrence’s Joyia Chadwick, a junior at Williams College, finished third and earned All-American honors in the heptathlon at the NCAA Div. III track championships last week in Decatur, Ill. Her 4,709 points broke her own school record for the third time.
  • Rebels U-11 Winners: Kansas Rebels U-11 baseball won a wood bat tournament last weekend in Nevada, Mo. Team members are Mack Hartwell, Cody Oller, Ross Johnson, Tyler Dick, Dylan Perry, Josh Hoffman, Aaron Rosenstengle, Jonathan Pederson, Troy Willoughby, Jake Johnson, Colin Toalson and Clay Hamilton. Coaches are Todd Hoffman and Rick Rosenstengle.
  • Henrickson Camps: Bonnie Henrickson’s Kansas University elite basketball camp for girls entering grades 8-12 will be June 18-19. Henrickson’s camp for grades 1-7 will be June 25-26. For information, call 864-4938.

  • Beisner JGC Winner: Kent Beisner fired a 1-under-par 71 and won last weekend’s Jayhawk Golf Club tournament at Alvamar. Jay Patterson was runner-up with a 77. Mike NcNelly and Van Reichert shared third, each with a 78. In net scoring, Steve Crawford and Scott Reichert tied for the low score, each with a 68. Ted Johnson carded 69 and Richard Brown 70.
  • Phenix-Riling Fourth: Lawrence Phenix-Riling U-16 softball finished fourth in a tourney in Blue Springs, Mo., and qualified for the July nationals in Lawrence. Team members were Kim Gilges, Mariah Riling, Karen Spence, Haley Breitenbach, Emily Leiker, Chelsey Titus, Ciara Grame-Caughron, Sachi Sakumura, Charley Jo Schwartz and Bailey Beasley.   • Riley Wins in Wichita: Steve Riley of Lawrence won the Seniors 5K on May 26 in Wichita and captured the Masters Division of the Bob Ream Memorial 15K May 30 in Wichita. Riley was third overall in the Ream race.
  • Orchards Aces: Orchards Golf Course surrendered two holes-in-one May 27. Mary K. Page aced the 102-yard No. 4 hole using a pitching wedge with Joan Wells the witness, and Brian Teson aced the 97-yard No. 8 hole using a sand wedge. Bryan Meyer witnessed the shot.
  • Orchards Scramble: A two-person scramble is set for 7:30 a.m. June 12 at Orchards Golf Course. For information, call 843-7456.
