‘Robin Hood’ among weekend fun

A cast of burgeoning thespians will continue their run of Lawrence playwright Ric Averill’s “Robin Hood: The Wedding of Allan A’Dale” tonight at the Lawrence Arts Center, 940 N.H. The play, part of the Summer Youth Theatre season, follows the story of Genevieve, a duke’s daughter who flees to Sherwood Forest disguised as a boy to escape marrying the wicked Sheriff of Nottingham. There she becomes one of the “Merry Men” and falls in love with Allan A’Dale, a non-fighting member of Robin Hood’s roguish band.
