Dean E. Crawford

Mr. Crawford died Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born Jan. 15, 1940, in Topeka, the son of Ernest and Beulah Jones Crawford. He had lived for many years in Lawrence and moved in May 2003 to Eudora.

Mr. Crawford was employed for many years as a certified public accountant. He worked for Weatherwax & Shirley C.P.A., then Lesh, Barrand, Bradley, Barrand & Schehrer. He later owned his own firm, Dean Crawford, C.P.A. For several years, he also worked at D&D Tire Co. in Lawrence.

He was a members of Traveler’s Protective Assn. and was a former member of Breakfast Optimist Club in Lawrence.

He married Peggy M. Huffman on Nov. 23, 1966, in Lawrence. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Kelly Marquette, San Diego, and Karla Peck, Lawrence; a son, Kevin, New York; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to Lawrence Memorial Hospital Endowment Assn. for the Palliative Care Room or to the American Cancer Society, sent in care of the mortuary.
