Wichita

Funeral services planned for congressman's son

Services for the teenage son of Rep. Todd Tiahrt are planned for Wednesday.

Luke Tiahrt, 16, died Saturday of an apparent suicide at the family's home in Virginia.

A public viewing will be today from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Broadway Mortuary in Wichita.

Public services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Westlink Christian Church. A private burial service will be later in Driftwood, Okla.

Topeka

Police arrest suspects in shooting at car wash

Three men were arrested during the weekend in connection with a fatal shooting at a Topeka car wash on July 7.

Jesse James Biggers, 19, who also uses the last name Romero, and Michael Owen Bennett, 26, were arrested Saturday in Topeka, Topeka police said. On Sunday, Jesse Dean Chandler, 18, was arrested in Tulsa. Arrest warrants had been issued charging all three men with first-degree murder.

They are accused in the death of Mark Duncan, who was shot as he was preparing to wash his car. Sgt. Darin Scott said the motive appeared to have been robbery.
