Cub Scout Pack 3057, chartered to the Lawrence Catholic School PTO, met July 17 at the Holcom Recreation Center to earn the Table Tennis Belt Loop. Ankit Agarwal and Scott Downie covered the rules and demonstrated how to play the game. Cubs who participated were Luke Turnbull, August Murphy-Beach, Kyle Vogelsang, Luke Fitzgerald, Clayton Pfeifer, Jakob Walter, Jonathan Fitzgerald, Jacob Pfeifer and Lucas Vogelsang. Adult leaders and other family members present were John Pfeifer, Jim Beach, Debbie Wulf-Walter, Hannah Walter, Jean Pfeifer, Reed Pfeifer, Lori Fitzgerald, Paula Turnbull, Kacy Turnbull and Jason Turnbull.

  • Cub Scout Pack 3051, chartered to Pinckney School, had its annual fishing derby on July 17 at Bromelsick. David Berkowitz gave a talk on fishing etiquette and safety. Gabriel Patterson won first place for catching the biggest fish, a large mouth bass. Spencer Wilson received second place for catching the most fish. Austin Garner won third place for catching the first fish.

Cubs who participated were Dakota Zinn, Austin Garner, Nilo Pena, Johnathan Roberts, Spencer Wilson, Christopher Sloan, Mason Robinson, Michael Robinson, Patrick Shields and Gabriel Patterson.

After fishing, the boys enjoyed a night of games and “Dutch oven” cooking at Rod Zinn’s home. Among the dishes that were prepared were pizza, hobo stew, cobbler and smores.
