Tickets priced between $3 and $15 are on sale for Kansas University’s four men’s basketball exhibition games during Labor Day weekend in Canada.

KU will play University of British Columbia at 2 p.m. (CDT) Saturday, Sept. 4 at UBC’s War Memorial Gym in Vancouver ($15 tickets); Langara College at 1 p.m. Sept. 5 at War Memorial Gym ($10); University College of Fraser Valley at 9 p.m. Sept. 5 at Student Activity Centre in Abbotsford ($15) and Simon Fraser at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 6 at East Gym in Burnaby ($3).

The most plentiful items on display Friday were stacks of No. 44 jerseys of ex-Jayhawk David Padgett, who has transferred to Louisville. Two garage bags full of Padgett jerseys were stationed under a table displaying No. 44 jerseys. Several No. 2 jerseys of ex-Jayhawk Omar Wilkes also were on display for sale.

Padgett will be joined by Hassan Adams (Arizona), Justin Gray (Wake Forest), Sean May (North Carolina), Adam Morrison (Gonzaga), Chris Paul (Wake Forest), Mustafa Shakur (Arizona), Curtis Sumpter (Villanova), P.J. Tucker (Texas), Charlie Villanueva (UConn), Curtis Withers (Charlotte) and Bracey Wright (Indiana). Oklahoma’s Kelvin Sampson is head coach.

• No thanks, Knights: The Kansas City Knights issued a somewhat bizarre press release this week indicating a desire to pursue Danny Manning as head coach/general manager for the upcoming season. Manning, who is beginning his second season as a member of Bill Self’s KU basketball staff, said Friday he had no interest in talking to the Knights about a job. Manning — director of student-athlete development/team manager last year — does not have a new title. It’s expected he will land a title that will allow him to continue to practice with the team.

• Feist date open: KU still is looking for a team to play in the Feist Shootout on Dec. 11 in Kemper Arena next season.

“We have to get a game in Kemper. There’s a chance we may move one of our other games there,” KU senior associate AD Larry Keating said.

KU conceivably could move one of its current opponents like Nevada, Vermont, TCU, Pacific or South Carolina to Kemper in Kansas City, Mo., and fill a final date in Allen.
