Two managers have been named to interim positions at Lawrence Memorial Hospital since the chief operating officer unexpectedly left her job earlier this month.

Connie Broers, the hospital’s laboratory director, has been named interim director of clinical operations. Dana Hale, a nursing director, has been named interim director of nursing.

The appointments were announced Wednesday to LMH board members by Gene Meyer, the hospital’s president and chief executive.

Broers and Hale will take over duties formerly performed by Bonnie Peterson, who left her job July 5. Hospital officials have declined to say whether Peterson resigned or was fired. Meyer said he was evaluating whether the chief operating officer position was needed.
