Nightclub patron charged with arson

A Topeka man was charged Monday with setting fire to a shed and damaging two vehicles outside a rural Douglas County business that features nude dancers.

Ryan T. Labruyere, 29, was arrested early Monday shortly after he was ordered by employees to leave the Outhouse, 1837 N. 1500 Road, because of misconduct, according to a Douglas County Sheriff’s report.

Moments after Labruyere left the building, an Outhouse bouncer discovered damage to two vehicles parked outside and saw smoke coming from a shed behind the business.

Labruyere was seen running from the fire, the sheriff’s report said.

Employees used fire extinguishers to put out the shed fire. Some furnace filters were damaged in the fire, according to the sheriff’s report.

Lawrence Police arrested Labruyere, who was being held Monday in the Douglas County Jail on $5,000 bond after being charged with felony arson and two counts of misdemeanor damage to property.
