McKenzie-Miller

Amanda McKenzie and Jerrod Miller were married May 27, 2004, in an outdoor ceremony at the Iberostar Resort in Cozumel, Mexico.

The bride is the daughter of Dianna McKenzie and James McKenzie, both of Lawrence. The groom is the son of Dean Miller, Hamilton, and the late Cindy Young. Attendants were Erin McKenzie and Rodney Miller.

Friends and family members who attended were Dianna McKenzie, James McKenzie, Annie McKenzie, Katie Kirsch, Jane Morrissey, Marc Mondi, Matt Maigaard, Lawrence; and Scott McKenzie and Jennifer Overbagh, Fort Collins, Colo.

The couple were the guests of honor at a dinner in the El Sarape Restaurant at the resort. The bride’s mother played host to a reception for the couple on June 26 at the Lawrence Country Club.

The bride and groom are 1999 graduates of Free State High School. The bride plans to graduate in May 2005 from Washburn University with a degree in elementary education. The groom is employed by First Management Inc.

The couple reside in Lawrence.

Bruce-Dick

Mickey Bruce and Chad Dick were married April 17, 2004, at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Salina with the Rev. Leroy Pralle officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Edward and Cathy Bruce, Salina. The groom is the son of Larry and Vickie Dick, Coffeyville.

Matron of honor Kat Scheck. Best man was Sean Foster.

The bride is a graduate of Ell-Saline High School. She received a degree in social welfare from Kansas University. She is social services director at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community in Lawrence.

The groom is a graduate of Coffeyville Field Kindley High School. He received a degree in sports science in education from KU. He is account executive at Hanebutt Consulting Group, Overland Park.

The couple reside in Baldwin.

Maxwell-Fry

Jena Maxwell and Eric Fry, both of Lenexa, were married April 17, 2004, at First United Methodist Church in Lawrence with the Rev. Sharon Howell officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Bill Maxwell, Lawrence, and JoAnne Kready, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Luther and Ardis Fry, Garden City.

Maid of honor was Sarah Green. Best man was David Fry. Bridesmaids were Amy Profeta, Amy Knapp, Laura Severance, Amy Moseley and Edwina Parrish-Littlejohn. Groomsmen were Tyler Dohogne, Mike Schumacher, Neil Ridder, Alex Dill and Marc Herrman.

Ushers were Brandt Maxwell, Mark Beindorff and Drew Green. Reader was Candice Loupee. Vocalists were the Lawrence Women’s Chorale.

A reception was given at the Ramada Inn.

The bride is a 1993 graduate of Lawrence High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology in 1997 from Kansas University. She earned a physician assistant degree in 2000 from Wichita State University.

The groom is a 1993 graduate of Garden City High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology in 1997 from KU. He is a 2003 graduate of KU Medical Center.

The couple reside in Lenexa.

Staudinger-Bean

Cheryl Staudinger and David Bean, both of Topeka, were married May 8, 2004, at the Holy Name Catholic Church in Topeka with the Rev. John Reynolds officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Leonard and Mary Ann Staudinger, Hoisington. The groom is the son of Bob and Marilyn Bean, Lawrence.

Maid of honor was Michelle Staudinger. Best man was Dave Kemp. Bridesmaids were Karen Marsell, Tanya Moore and Jennifer Bean. Groomsmen were Andrew McCausland, Keith Staudinger and Leland Befort.

Flower girl was Kynlee Doll. Jacob Marshall was ring bearer. Allison Marsell and Andie Marsell were program attendants. Lindsey Hume and Hayley Hume were guest book attendants. Ushers were Matt Meier, Aaron Harnden and Eric Harnden.

A reception was given at Washburn University.

The bride is a graduate of Claflin High School and Washburn University. She is a finance and grants manager for Sunflower Foundation in Topeka.

The groom is a graduate of Wichita Southeast High School and Kansas University. He is a certified public accountant for Mize, Houser and Co. in Topeka.

The couple reside in Topeka.

Carl-Mater

Tonya Carl and Eric Mater, both of Kansas City, Mo., were married May 8, 2004, at Fall Leaf Farm in Linwood with the Rev. Gary Teske officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Robert Carl, Phoenix, and Lillian Kay Carl, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Kenny and Nancy Mater, Great Bend.

Matron of honor was Traci Carl. Best man was Brian Mater.

Bridesmaids were Shelley Mater and Raven Liby. Groomsmen were Mickey Smith and Brian Collins.

The bride is a Lawrence High School graduate. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting at Kansas University. She is a certified public accountant and works for Entertainment Properties Trust.

The groom is a graduate of Great Bend High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from KU. He is employed with Kansas City Audio Visual.

The couple reside in Kansas City, Mo.

Kettler-Sursa

Lara Kettler and Ron Sursa, both of Killeen, Texas, were married March 13, 2004, at the United Methodist Church in Tonganoxie with the Rev. Gary Benjamin officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Hubert and Sarah Kettler, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Rick and Julie Sursa, Tucumcari, N.M.

Maid of honor was Jill Kettler. Best man was Gary Stroud. Bridesmaids were Andrea Staples and Tomika France. Groomsmen were Lee Staples and Patrick Carruth.

Flower girls were Kylie Hutfles and Sarah Hutfles. Ring bearers were Tanner Winn and Deltyn Dimmerson. Readers were Ben Kettler and Brian Winn. Vocalists were Jon Kettler and Jeff Emert, and the organist was Karen Stephenson.

A reception was given at the Lawrence Holidome.

The bride is a Tonganoxie High School graduate. She received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in special education from Kansas University. She is a first-grade teacher at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas.

The groom is a Logan, N.M., high school graduate. He is studying history at Central Texas College. He owns a landscaping business.
