Davis wins praise for education advocacy

One of Lawrence’s state representatives is collecting praise for his support of higher-education spending.

Kansas Families United for Public Education recognized Democrat Paul Davis, who serves east and central Lawrence in the 46th District, at a recent reception. The group also commended 3rd District Congressman Dennis Moore, D-Kansas; State Sen. David Adkins, R-Leawood; State Sen. Anthony Hensley, D-Topeka; Rep. Cindy Neighbor, R-Shawnee and Rep. Bill Reardon, D-Kansas City.

Davis was one of 16 freshmen legislators who offered an alternative budget proposal during the 2003 legislative session. The proposal would have increased funding for education.
