Lloyd M. “Butch” Kraus

De Soto — Services for Lloyd M. “Butch” Kraus, 89, De Soto, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at De Soto Baptist Church. Burial with Masonic Lodge No. 40 graveside services will follow at De Soto Cemetery.

Mr. Kraus died Thursday, July 8, 2004, at Hillside Village, De Soto.

He was born on Oct. 20, 1914, in De Soto, Lexington Township, the son of Phillip W. and Ora Mae Miller Kraus. He graduated from De Soto High School.

Mr. Kraus lived in De Soto for most of his life. He worked as an ammonia operator at Farmland Industries in Lawrence for 33 years. He also owned and operated Kraus Truck Lines in De Soto.

He attended De Soto Baptist Church. He was also a 50-year member of De Soto Masonic Lodge No. 40 and Scottish Rite in Lawrence.

Mr. Kraus married Helen E. Brannock on Jan. 3, 1937, in Richmond, Mo. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Larry L., Shawnee, and Phillip R., Overland Park; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A great-grandchild died earlier.

Family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the church.
