Late run leads Lynx

? Minnesota’s reserves helped lead the biggest comeback in franchise history Friday, with the Lynx erasing a 20-point second-half deficit in a 61-59 victory over the Phoenix Mercury.

Sparked by a pair of three-pointers apiece from Amber Jacobs and Amanda Lassiter, the Lynx stormed back after trailing 55-35 with 61/2 minutes remaining. Minnesota closed the game on a 26-4 run.

Monarchs 85, Sun 70

Uncasville, Conn. — Kara Lawson had 21 points and made all eight of her shots from the floor. Lawson’s first five shots were three-pointers, and her eight field goals were a career high. The Monarchs finished with a season-high 54 percent shooting from the floor, including 9-for-12 from behind the arc. The victory snapped the Sun’s six-game winning streak, one shy of a franchise record.

Sparks 66, Stars 61

San Antonio — Lisa Leslie had 18 points and 10 rebounds, giving Los Angeles a season-high five-game winning streak. The Sparks also got 17 points from Mwadi Mabika, and Tamika Whitmore added 10. Nikki Teasley had eight assists. San Antonio, which lost its fourth straight, was led by LaToya Thomas’ 19 points.
