Paul Arlie Scott

? Graveside services for Paul Arlie Scott, 83, Hays, Kan., will be at 10 a.m. July 16 at Hall Cemetery, Blue Mound, Ill.

Mr. Scott died Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at Good Samaritan Home in Ellis, Kan.

He was born Dec. 3, 1920, in Blue Mound, the son of A.B. and Minnie Belle Scott.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1942 from Milliken University in Decatur, Ill.

He served in World War II as a weather officer in the Army Air Corps with the 13th Air Force in the South Pacific. He received the Air Medal and several campaign ribbons and attained the rank of captain before being honorably discharged in 1946.

Mr. Scott worked as the national special risks insurance underwriter for the Great American Insurance Co. of Cincinnati.

He married Ruth Sutton on May 15, 1943, in Decatur. They later divorced. He married Joyce Cooper in 1973. She died in March 1976. He married Juletta Beltz on June 19, 1976, in Phoenix. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Robin Mather, Baldwin, Kan., and Eileen Jackson, Hays; four sons, Brian, Belton, Mo., Luman, Westminster, Colo., John, Liberal, Mo., and Bob Beltz, Littleton, Colo.; a brother, James, Decatur, Ill.; a sister, Eloise Douin, Chatham; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

The family suggests memorials to the Humane Society of the High Plains, Box 311, Hays 67601.
