Olathe pummels Veritas

? Kirk Long’s 18 points weren’t enough for the Veritas Christian boys basketball team, as the Eagles fell to 5-10 on the season with a 73-51 loss to Olathe Christian.

“Offensively, we didn’t shoot like we’re definitely capable of,” Veritas coach Doug Bennett said. “It was just one of those games where we’re not as bad as we played.”

Sophomore Mark Randtke added 12 points despite being plagued by foul trouble. Matt Steinle added eight points.

Olathe Christian raced to a 33-21 halftime lead, then erupted and outscored Veritas 25-10 in the third quarter.
