Trump preaches what he practices

New York — Donald Trump, the real estate titan and star of the TV reality show “The Apprentice,” is coming out with a new book.

Random House will publish “How to Get Rich” in April, coinciding with the show’s live season finale.

And how much is he getting paid for the book?

A source close to the negotiations said Trump was receiving “a lot more than a million dollars.” Trump himself said Thursday his deal was “the equivalent of getting half a floor at 40 Wall Street.”

Trump said his new book was “85 percent” done and that the contract was more notable for the royalties than for the advance.

“I believe in being paid on the back end and getting a lot if it sells a lot,” he said. “I believe in compensation for success, not just gauging some company up front.”

Bird flu delays crooner’s tour

Singapore — Andy Williams has postponed a tour of Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand and Singapore because of worries about the spread of bird flu in Asia, his Singaporean concert organizer said Thursday.

The 76-year-old singer decided to reschedule “because of his age and health issues,” Aris Liu said.

The Singapore concert, originally planned for March 6, will take place in July, Liu said.

MS fails to split Vieira’s family

New York — Meredith Vieira’s husband, writer and television news producer Richard Cohen, has lived with multiple sclerosis for the past 30 years and was diagnosed with colon cancer in 1999.

But even though the diseases made him think about leaving his family members for their own good, Vieira said she always wanted to stick by him.

“This is my life,” she told Barbara Walters, with whom she co-hosts “The View,” for an interview airing at 9 tonight on ABC’s “20/20.”

“She’s seen a lot of bad stuff and she’s never wavered,” Cohen said. “I’m not the man she married. And I look in the mirror trying to find the man she married sometimes.”

Robin Givens injures pedestrian

Miami — Actress Robin Givens struck and critically injured an 89-year-old pedestrian in a crosswalk, police said Thursday.

Givens, a star of the 1980s TV comedy “Head of the Class” and the ex-wife of boxer Mike Tyson, struck Maria Antonia Alcover with her sport utility vehicle Wednesday as the elderly woman was crossing a busy intersection during rush hour, police spokesman Delrish Moss said. Police have ruled it an accident.

Witnesses said Alcover had gotten more than halfway across the street when the light turned green and Givens’ 2000 Mercedes SUV struck her. Police said Givens’ car had been stopped at the traffic light before the accident.
