Jurors found 20-year-old Patrick C. Neal, Lawrence, guilty of rape Thursday evening for attacking a woman after she gave him a ride home from a downtown nightclub.

The alleged attack happened early June 6 after the woman, a 28-year-old Lawrence resident, gave the man a ride home from La Tasca, 943 Mass. Upon arrival at an apartment complex near 6th Street and Monterey Way, the man picked her up, carried her to a secluded area, then punched and choked her as he raped her, she testified.

Neal also was found guilty of aggravated battery, but acquitted on aggravated sodomy and aggravated kidnapping charges.
