Hot on the success of “American Chopper,” the Discovery Channel has launched “American Hot Rod” (9 p.m., Discovery), featuring the creative restorations of Boyd Coddington, considered one of the foremost hot rod designers in America.

• On the other side of the testosterone divide, the Style Network launches “The Brini Maxwell Show” (9 p.m.). A kind of cross-dressing Martha Stewart, “Brini Maxwell” has been a cult sensation on public access television in Manhattan and elsewhere. The series both celebrates and sends up domestic divas with handy, budget-conscious advice about accessorizing and finding the right vintage touch to put kitsch in your kitchen.
• Secretary of State Colin Powell appears on an hourlong “Dateline” (7 p.m., NBC) report on child sex trafficking in Cambodia. Children in that country are often kidnapped or sold into the sex trade by their own parents for as little as $300 per year. Still reeling from years of war and a brutal, genocidal regime, the Southeast Asian country has become a magnet for Western “sex tourists” who procure prostitutes as young as 5 years old.
