Lawmaker tries to repeal hypnotism ban
Topeka ? You are getting sleepy.
A state lawmaker today filed a bill to repeal a state prohibition on hypnotic exhibitions.
“I know many times where hypnotism may have been helpful,” state Sen. Janis Lee, D-Kensington, said.
She said Kansas is the only state that prohibits hypnotism for entertainment or performance purposes. The prohibition carries a $50 fine.
A business in her district requested the repeal after trying to hire a hypnotist for entertainment, Lee said.
