Frank James Lee

? Services for Frank James Lee, 74, Fort Scott, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel, Fort Scott. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery north of Hume, Mo.

Mr. Lee died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo.

He was born July 16, 1929, in Hume, the son of Sam Lee and Edna (Hotelling) Lee.

He was a 1946 graduate of Hume High School.

Mr. Lee was retired as truck driving instructor at Fort Scott Community College.

He married Mary Virginia Sheehy on March 16, 1950, in Bentonville, Ark. She died Dec. 17, 2000. A son, Frank James Jr., and a daughter, Deborah E. Applegate, also died earlier.

Survivors include two sons, Roger Kent and Kevin Edwin, both of Fort Scott; a daughter, Diana Lynn Deere, Baldwin; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to either the American Cancer Society or the Frank Lee Memorial Fund, sent to the chapel, P.O. Box 347, Fort Scott 66701.
