Riling services
Services for Vera C. Riling, 76, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Riling died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 4, 1927, in London, the daughter of John and Lillian (McDougal) Cope. She had lived in Lawrence for 50 years.
Mrs. Riling worked at Raney’s Drug, Round Corner Drug and Hillcrest Drug.
She married John L. Riling on July 11, 1969. He died May 18, 1985.
Survivors include three sons, David Jenkins, Rochester, Minn., Danny E. Jenkins, Wichita, and Dennis S. Jenkins, Lahaina, Hawaii; a brother, Peter Cope, Dartford, Kent, United Kingdom; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Wednesday until service time at the mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of the mortuary.
