6News video: Art a la Carte

This weekend at the Lawrence Arts Center, the Seem-To-Be Players will give the Lawrence premiere of “Tales of Tom Sawyer,” an original adaptation by Ric Averill of the classic Mark Twain novel. After the Saturday and Sunday performances, the show will tour the country with other Seem-To-Be plays.

If you go, be sure to stop by the arts center galleries, where “Upon Reflection,” an exhibit of self-portrait quilts by the Kansas Art Quilters, and “Drawings of Tibet and the Himalayas” are both on view through Feb. 5.

Sunday’s your last chance to see “Teaching from Prints: The Legacy of John Talleur,” an exhibition at the Spencer Museum of Art that honors the career of the late Kansas University professor. And in the museum’s Central Court, a handful of models conveying student visions for how the museum’s expansion should look will be up through the end of the month.
