New York — “Taboo” is history.

Despite her best efforts, Rosie O’Donnell has decided to pull the plug on her beloved but critically panned Broadway musical starring ’80s icon Boy George, reports E!Online.

After playing only 16 previews and 100 performances, “Taboo” will officially close Feb. 8.

O’Donnell failed to recoup the $10 million investment she poured into Taboo, largely thanks to a flurry of bad reviews and weak ticket sales since it opened Nov. 13.

Singer ordered to trial

Detroit — White Stripes lead singer Jack White, who’s accused of repeatedly punching the lead singer of another band in the face, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to a misdemeanor aggravated assault charge.

White was ordered to stand trial March 9.

The Dec. 13 fight between White and Von Bondies lead singer Jason Stollsteimer began shortly before midnight at the Majestic Theater Center, where both men were in the audience for another concert.

Stollsteimer, 25, of Detroit, told police that White punched him seven times in the face. Police said Stollsteimer’s right eye was bruised and swollen, and he was bleeding from his nose.

No stork on the way

New York — George Clooney says reports that his girlfriend, actress Krista Allen, is having a baby are greatly exaggerated.

“She is not pregnant, and she never was pregnant,” Clooney tells Us Weekly in the issue coming out Friday. “Krista has a 6-year-old (Jacob) in school. I don’t want kids saying, ‘Oh, you’re having a brother or sister’ if it’s not true. Happy, yes. Pregnant, no.”

Clooney, 42, and Allen, 31, met on the set of “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind,” the 2002 film he directed and co-starred in. Allen had a small role in the movie.

Previously, she played Billie Reed on the NBC soap “Days of Our Lives” for three years and has appeared in several “Emmanuelle” movies on Cinemax.

Parton is Flameworthy

Nashville, Tenn. — Dolly Parton will be the host of the Country Music Television’s Flameworthy Video Music Awards.

Parton also will perform during the fan-voted awards show, which airs April 21.

The Flameworthy awards have a more irreverent style than other country music events. It’s closer in tone to its sister networks MTV and VH1 than to the award shows by the Country Music Assn. or the Academy of Country Music.

Last year, Toby Keith and actress Pamela Anderson were co-hosts. Performers included Shania Twain, Kid Rock, Tim McGraw and Sheryl Crow.

Anderson brought a man onstage clad in underwear and cowboy boots with “Naked Cowboy” written on his bottom. The show drew one of the largest audiences in CMT’s history with more than 8.3 million viewers.
