Bush support

To the editor:

Because I live in Niwot, Colo., a small, unincorporated community just north of Boulder, I read the Lawrence Journal-World online each day. Having grown up in Kansas and attended Kansas University, I, like thousands of others, live and breathe KU basketball. I very much enjoyed the Jan. 5 game in Boulder. It is always great to see the Jayhawks in person, and especially nice to win in Boulder.

As I clicked the link to the paper the next day, I noticed the headline for an anti-Bush ad produced by Mike Cuenca, of Lawrence. I read the story with great interest. The contest seems interesting, and the panel of judges seems oh-so-fair. The usual rhetoric comes from the ad, like the usual words from the mouths of Al Franken, Janeane Garofalo, et al.

I am a supporter of President Bush. In my neck of the woods (The People’s Republic of Boulder, Boulder — A City Surrounded by Reality, etc.), my opinion is not in the majority. I am happy that some of the liberals have moved on. I’m just sorry that they have moved to Lawrence! Good luck, Mr. Cuenca. I hope your ad does not see any airtime in Kansas for I know that I will see plenty of it in Boulder. Go Jayhawks!
