Leora Mae Reed

? Memorial services for Leora Mae Reed, 67, Ottawa, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Lutheran Church in Ottawa. Inurnment will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Belleville Cemetery.

Mrs. Reed died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004, at Village Manor in Ottawa.

She was born June 17, 1936, in Chester, Neb., the daughter of Leonard and Emma (Fintel) Brendemuehl. She was raised in Chester and graduated from Chester High School. She received a degree to become a licensed practical nurse at Cloud County Community College in Concordia.

Mrs. Reed worked at Belleville Hospital and Delmar Gardens in Olathe. She helped on the family farm in the Belleville area until she and her husband moved to Ottawa to manage a Best Western Motel. They managed an Econolodge Motel in Carthage, Mo., before retiring and moving back to Ottawa. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

She married Lynn Reed on May 31, 1955, in Stoddard, Neb. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Pat Skiles, Ottawa, and Pam Commons, Emporia; two sons, Mark Reed, Kansas City, Kan., and Mike Reed, Wellsville; two sisters, Alice Kirchoff, Deshler, Neb., and Delta Schmidt, Lincoln, Neb.; and 15 grandchildren.

A son, Mitchell, died earlier.
