Heston leads Oskie past Jackson Heights

? Senior center Jake Heston scored 33 points as Oskaloosa dropped Jackson Heights, 66-56, in boys basketball Friday night.

“He was on fire,” Oskie coach Ryan West said after his team bounced back from Tuesday’s loss at Horton and improved to 3-4. “He made everything. We ran plays for him. The kids saw we had an advantage with that matchup and got him the ball.”

Skyler Wassmer scored 11 points, while point guard Joe Crawford had eight. Crawford suffered a wrist injury in the third quarter and had to leave the game.

Backup Josh Weis contributed seven points in the final quarter.

The Bears will play host to Topeka Cair Paravel Tuesday night.
