FCE and 4-H news

Kanwaka FCE will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Keith and Hazel Nitcher, Lawrence. The lesson topic is “Company’s Coming.” Leaders will be Margaret Fuston and Myrna Hartford. Members will have a buffet luncheon of dishes selected from the recipes given in the lesson. The dishes will be prepared by the members.

  • Douglas County Family and Community Education in cooperation with K-State Research & Extension Family and Consumer Sciences is offering a program “Weigh to Diet” at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the Deal Six Auditorium at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds, 2110 Harper St.

The program will be given by Susan Krumm, extension agent. The program will focus on weight through lifestyle influences.

To register, call the Extension Office at 843-7058. The program is free and open to the public.

  • The Four Leaf Clover 4-H Club met Dec. 8 in Building 1 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. The meeting was called to order by Erin Ashcraft. Anne Dinsdale led the club in singing “Jingle Bells.”

Members who are enrolled in the level three and four leadership projects gave a presentation about how to get involved in Douglas County 4-H Days, which will be Feb. 7. The club had a gift exchange. The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Monday.
