Donna Ruth Powell

Mrs. Powell died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, at her home.

She was born Sept. 11, 1938, in Lawrence, the daughter of Robert and Minnie (Knight) Hamill. She grew up and attended schools in Lawrence. She lived in Lawrence, Eudora, Overbrook and Mountain Home, Ark., before moving to Quenemo in 1989.

Mrs. Powell was a homemaker and worked at Ottawa Retirement Village for 10 years and at Hospice Home Health for three years. She was a member of Vassar United Methodist Church.

She married John A. Powell on June 22, 1953, in Olathe. He survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, John R. Powell, Pomona, and Michael L. Powell, Quenemo; a daughter, Sherice D. Cloud, Michigan Valley; a sister, Patricia Collins, Linwood; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Two sons, Steven A. Powell and Roger L. Powell, and a grandson died earlier.

Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
