I’m usually a fan of low-budget science fiction, but even I have my limits. The new series (actually a 1999 import) “Code Name: Eternity” (9 p.m., Sci Fi) falls well beyond my threshold of pain.

The story, for what it’s worth, involves an alien creature named Ethaniel (Cameron Bancroft) who arrives on Earth with no memory of his mission. Yup, he’s got amnesia! Slowly, he begins to recall that his ship has been sabotaged by intergalactic bad-guy David Banning (Andrew Gillies), who operates from an Art Deco skyscraper in the generic skyline of some faceless Canadian city.

• If life teaches us anything, it’s that people who describe themselves as “hip” are usually anything but. The same goes for people, parties or movies that insist that they are “crazy.” And when a show bills itself as “Totally Outrageous Behavior” (7 p.m., Fox), you can expect a tired compendium of video clips and home movie mishaps. In predictable fashion, Fox follows “Outrageous” with “World’s Craziest Videos” (7:30 p.m.), a collection of snippets from news broadcasts gone bad and wayward sitcom shenanigans from around the globe.
