KU Indoor Track: Kansas University will conduct an indoor track and field meet for youth and high school athletes at 1 p.m. Feb. 1 in Anschutz Pavilion. Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each event. For information call 864-3486 or visit www.kuathletics.com.

  • Youth Soccer Deadline: Registration deadline is Friday for the city’s youth indoor soccer league. Information is available at all city parks and recreation facilities and at www.lprd.org. The leagues are for players in kindergarten through sixth grade.
  • KU Bowlers Shine: Kansas University’s men’s bowling team finished second in a field of 44 at the National Colgate Invitational last weekend in Stratford, N.J. The KU women were eighth in a 22-team field. Sophomore Rhino Page led the men with a fourth-place finish by averaging 233 in all-events. Senior Marc D’Errico was 14th overall with a 221.6 average. Junior Kelly Zapf led the women by finishing second in all-events with a 218.8 average. Monday and Tuesday at the Keystone Quaker Classic in Allentown, Pa., the KU men again were second in a 44-team field as Alan Emmons and D’Errico both averaged 206. The KU women, led by Kelly Sanders who averaged 183.1, were 18th overall.
  • Flames Runners-Up: Sport 2 Sport seventh grade Flames finished second in the seventh/eighth grade division of the Kansas City Keys basketball tournament last weekend in Parkville, Mo.
