Helen Etta Sanderson Schenck

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. ? Private services for Helen Etta Sanderson Schenck, 90, Lathrup Village, Mich., were Dec. 3 in Southfield, Mich.

Mrs. Schenck died Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich.

She was born Jan. 29, 1913, in Pittsburg, Kan., the daughter of William and Flora McKinley Sanderson. Her family moved to Lawrence, Kan., in 1928, and she graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1931. She received a bachelor’s degree from Kansas University in 1935.

Mrs. Schenck worked in early-childhood education in California and Hawaii before her marriage.

She married F. Allan Schenck in 1948 in Los Angeles. He died earlier.

Survivors include three sons, Vince Schenck, Normal, Ill.; Russell Schenck, Lake Orion, Mich., and Cleve Schenck, Evergreen, Colo.; a brother, Milton Sanderson, Milroy, Pa.; and five grandchildren.
