Two residents honored as Volunteers of Year
Two Lawrence residents have received the 2004 Wallace Galluzzi Volunteer of the Year award from United Way of Douglas County.
Carolyn Landgrebe was honored for her 34 years of service to Meals on Wheels. Ariel George, a Lawrence High School senior, was honored for her volunteer time spent with the Lawrence Public Library, Lawrence Interdenominational Nutrition Kitchen, Baldwin Community Theater and the Youth Volunteer Council.
In all, 32 adults and three youths were nominated for the awards, which were presented Thursday night during the annual meeting of United Way.
