Mildred M. Edgecomb

Westphalia ? Services for Mildred M. Edgecomb, 95, Westphalia, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Old German Baptist Brethren Church in Westphalia. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Westphalia.

Mrs. Edgecomb died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004, at her home.

She was born Feb. 7, 1909, in Douglas County, the daughter of Robert N. and Effa E. (Barnhart) Gish.

Mrs. Edgecomb grew up in Douglas and Franklin counties, then moved in 1939 to Anderson County. She and her husband moved in 1966 to Harris, and she moved in 1993 to Westphalia.

She was a homemaker and member of Old German Baptist Brethren Church.

She married Claude W. Edgecomb on Dec. 19, 1926, in Douglas County. He died in 1986. A grandson died in 1973.

Survivors include two daughters, Thelma Heck, Westphalia, and Anna Beeghley, Baldwin; two sisters, Vida Flory, Baldwin, and Gladys Filbrun, Harris; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the home of Owen Heck, 25326 N.W. Arkansas Road, Westphalia.

Farris Feuerborn Memorial Chapel in Garnett is in charge of arrangements.
