Leet, Legler 26th for Lions

? Lawrence High’s two representatives at the Kansas state swimming meet — diver Nick Leet and swimmer Ian Legler — combined to give LHS 17 team points, good enough for 26th place Saturday.

Leet, a junior, finished fourth in the diving competition, scoring 453 points. After a strong first dive in the three-dive final, Leet struggled with his final two, which ended up slipping him from third to fourth place.

Legler, a senior, advanced to the final day in the 100 breaststroke by placing 16th in preliminaries Friday. He one-upped that Saturday by placing 15th in the consolation finals, finishing in a time of 1:06.70.
