With the Academy Awards ceremony a little more than a week away, some of the nominees are showing up in the strangest places.

Alec Baldwin, nominated for best supporting actor for his role in “The Cooler,” lends his voice to the 30-minute cartoon misadventure “Johnny Bravo Goes Hollywood” (7 p.m., Cartoon Network). To the uninitiated, Bravo is a would-be ladies man too clueless to know that his hip-swiveling, old-school style has zero appeal.

In “Hollywood,” Bravo is “discovered” by a big producer and travels to Tinsel Town to star in a movie with Baldwin, Jessica Biel and Don Knotts. Bravo’s star status proves short-lived. In fact, he’s fired before appearing in his very first scene and replaced with a computer-generated image of “Star Wars” actor Mark Hamill. This sly dig at the rise of Pixar animation at the expense of traditional cartooning is only one of the knowing gags in this movie spoof, which also includes vocal cameos from Tia Carrere and Kevin McDonald.

Best-actor nominee Bill Murray (“Lost in Translation”) appears on “Dweezil and Lisa” (9 p.m., Food) when host Dweezil Zappa competes in Murray’s annual charity golf tournament.

• Can a man hang in there with an orangutan? Can a championship jumper keep up with a Labrador retriever? Could even the best tree-climbing human out-shimmy a chimp? And would you bet on a human relay team to outrace a camel? The real question is, who is going to waste their time watching “Man vs. Beast 2” (8 p.m., Fox)?
• Clearly inspired by the controversy surrounding Mel Gibson’s forthcoming Aramaic epic “The Passion of Christ,” “Dateline” (8 p.m., NBC) examines the days leading up to the sentencing and crucifixion of Jesus Christ. An earlier edition of “Dateline” (7 p.m.) examines the enduring popularity of the Atkins diet, even after the death of founder Dr. Robert Atkins.

• Scheduled on “20/20” (9 p.m., ABC): an hourlong look at changing attitudes about women’s sexual fulfillment.
