Elizabeth Hurley

Memorial services for Elizabeth Hurley, 89, Lawrence, will be later in Deerfield Beach, Fla.

Mrs. Hurley died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.

She was born Aug. 1, 1914, in Jersey City, N.J., the daughter of Daniel and Anna (Hanley) Powers.

She graduated from Fairmount Hospital School of Nursing in Jersey City and was a registered nurse at the hospital. She retired to Deerfield Beach, Fla., and moved to Lawrence in September 2002.

Mrs. Hurley was a member of the American Cancer Society and the National League of Nursing.

She married Walter Harold Hurley on Oct. 30, 1943, in Jersey City. He died Oct. 23, 2002.

Survivors include two daughters, Celeste Leonardi, Lawrence, and June Nepsky, Telluride, Colo.; a brother, John Powers, Connecticut; and two grandsons.

The family suggests memorials to the charity of the donor’s choice, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
